Here at Urbanears, we love color. That would probably explain why we had so much fun being a part of the Color Castle Recreation Project the HOPE Outdoor Gallery (HOG) at SXSW in Austin, Texas this week.
The HOPE Outdoor Gallery is a three-story art project located at 11th & Baylor St. Austin, TX. We were involved in working on the ‘Local to Global’ installation, with artists producing murals featuring the latest Spring/Summer Urbanears colors.
The Hope Outdoor Gallery works to raise awareness for the Helping Other People Everywhere (HOPE) campaign and is one of the largest outdoor galleries in Texas, created as a way to provide muralists, graffiti artists and community groups the opportunity to display large scale art pieces driven by inspirational, positive and educational messaging.
We’re going to be at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas starting today. If you’re in town, here’s a little cheat sheet to help you find us throughout the event.
From March 9 through the 14th, you can find us at the Hope Outdoor Gallery, a three-story art project located at 11th & Baylor Streets. One of the largest outdoor galleries in Texas, the Hope Outdoor Gallery was developed to provide muralists, graffiti artists and community groups the opportunity to display large scale art pieces driven by inspirational, positive and educational messaging.
We’ll have artists painting new murals featuring colors from the Urbanears spring collection every day at 11 am, and then on March 14 at 1:00pm we’ll unveil an Urbanears Collab Piece, followed by a Silent Disco party. Drop by the gallery for access to the party.
If you haven’t gotten your fill of us by then, we’ll be hosting a Backlot Concert Series together with Urban Outfitters from March 14 to 17. Concerts start at noon daily, but be sure to get there early as admittance is on a first come, first serve basis.

We just got back from Berlin after taking part in the Swergie world tour for the second time around, this time during Berlin Fashion Week.
More than 1,500 partygoers came out to see live sets by Icona Pop, Elliphant, Acid Washed, Christian Olofsson of Fibes, Oh Fibes as well as DJ sets by Moneybrother and Pelle from the Hives, and many others.
Performances took place across Radialsystem V’s two main rooms, including a show by Swedish dance crew, Bounce.
Johnny and Fanita, DJ Fjodor and Sanna La Fleur kept the tunes coming in the Bedouin tent, and those in the Spotify VIP lounge were treated to sounds by Michael Beck of one of Germany’s most iconic hip hop groups, Die Fantastischen Vier.
Swergie made its debut at Cirkus in Stockholm on August 28, 2012, during Stockholm Fashion Week. The concert tour will continue its trek around the world, with the next party to be announced soon. Find out more about Swergie and see the latest pictures from the event here.
