Caroline Lundqvist for #30Thirty30
Caroline's different song picks are like watercolor brushstrokes. Dreamy shades with sometimes sharp edges.

What causes an artist to get hung up on a certain motif? Is it obsession or just pure fascination? For painter Caroline Lundqvist it was a fascination. A fascination for the contrast between soft and hard. And the subject? Oysters. “I first saw an oyster. The time stopped for a few seconds, I saw all colors, this sensual sea creature that lay in a bed of crystal pearl colors. The inside so fragile and beautiful and on the outside so raw and hard, like a shell that is somehow difficult to penetrate, that protects, consciously or unconsciously”. For the past nine years Caroline has depicted the emotion of an internal vulnerability with a hard protective shell externally, which is most certainly applicable to us as human beings as well. Caroline's different song picks are also like the watercolor brushstrokes. Dreamy shades with sometimes sharp edges. Songs for inspiration, taking long walks and cooking.
