URBANEARS HIDEOUT 2016
City views, teddy bears, and DJ record picks
Climb inside a tree wedged between two city buildings, walk through a dark alleyway, and take a ride in a moss covered elevator. That’s how you find your way to the Urbanears Hideout, which provided sanctuary for hundreds of visitors at Amsterdam Dance Event last week.
For three days, Hideout visitors were treated to an alternate reality full of relaxing spaces, good conversation, DJ sessions, and encounters with the extraordinary.
A pop up Clone Records store opened shop at the Hideout every day with a sampling of the latest picks, rare cuts, and secondhand treasures. It was also the stage for on the spot interviews with some of the top DJs from around the world.
How’s your record collection doing? Here are some records DJs picked at the Hideout:
Scandinavian Swords II
Bill Converse - Warehouse Invocation
Convextion - 2845
Paperclip People - Throw/Remake Uno
Braxton Holmes & Mark Grant - The Revival
The extremes of relaxation were explored and tested in the Teddy Bear Room, where people listened to soothing tracks with a pair of Zinken headphones while lying in a sea of teddy bears.
Miniature cocktails were served and sipped inside a really mini bar.
Thanks everyone for a great time! Come back for a repeat next year.

Norm-breaking and unapologetic. But still with the same fears and worries as the rest of us. Arvida Byström challenges society's rules as well as herself. Almost always with a touch of pink. We had a quick chat with Arvida about the new collaboration on our Pink Collection, about challenging the norms of society and how to Listen to yourself.
